Fantastic day!!!

July 31st, 2009 - Posted by Steve Ham

Today was a great day, principally since our Log home specialist Art arrived from the States to start work on our roof.  What an amazing contrast after what went on at the site before.  Art is an artist with a chain and circular saw and spent the day in 30º heat rectifying many of the […]

Exciting times for Nick

July 30th, 2009 - Posted by Steve Ham

On this mornings flight, Nick managed to get himself in a bit of a pickle, though saved in time by a timely throwing of his reserve, depositing him safely some 400m west of launch.  At this time many of us were already landed in the valley. Baz Rhodes happened to be at take off and […]

Thomas goes over the pass again

July 28th, 2009 - Posted by Steve Ham

We did a morning flght after the conditons/wind straightened up, but then were a bit late to the top take off for the XC fligth.  We went from lower down, but the wind was around 20km from just south of west , so things were turbulent.  I decided to land in the valley after getting […]

PB for Rob. Avila at last!

July 25th, 2009 - Posted by Steve Ham

Top score for Rob today with a 42minute flight in the morning scratch, then a whopping flight to Avila (over the walls and cathedral) on the XC flight. Only Dave, Ian, Rob and myself managed to get over the pass in some very light and stable condtions running up to it.  At the pass Rob, […]

Flying again

July 24th, 2009 - Posted by Steve Ham

A great day, with light NW winds and climbs to 2600m.  Excellent for Mike, with a new pb to near Avila.  Most got three decent flights, though apart from Mike, most bombed near the pass on the xc jaunt.  Looking good from here on for a while.

The start of a tricky flying week

July 20th, 2009 - Posted by Steve Ham

We have had excellent flying conditons with only around 4 days lost over the last month.  However, this seems to have come to a bit of an end with some problematic conditions for the next few days. Yesterday (Sunday) was an excellent day.  Alan made climbs to 3200m and set off towards Salamanca untill he […]

Northerlies and a bit stable.

July 18th, 2009 - Posted by Steve Ham

Yesterday we had a great early XC flight though the wind came on a bit strong at take off.  Strong climbs but not to above 2200m.  I flew a few little valley circuits and Sebastian went off on a low level XC to Puente de Congosto.  A strong NE came in during the evening flight, […]

A slow start then to the pass and back

July 16th, 2009 - Posted by Steve Ham

Wednesday gave us quite stable conditions with many having to fight to stay up around 2pm.  Myself and Dave got to the pass after a climb through the inversions to around 2600m at the Big Spine.  I spent around an hour waiting around the cemetery and pass watching Dave struggle to get up.  After an […]
