E winds and approaching warm front

September 27th, 2012 - Posted by Steve Ham

Low pressure in the south of Spain and an approaching warm from from the south.  Not ideal!  Rain forcast south of us and a lot of upper level cloud.  Difficult conditions for decent flying.

Clearing skies and dropping winds with c8500ft thermal tops. Excellent conditions

September 26th, 2012 - Posted by Steve Ham

Passage of cold front throught the Peninsula which should leave us by mid morning with a rapid drop off in wind speed and thermals to around 8500ft. If we fly it may be one of the few places in Europe that it is possible today. Tomorrow light E winds and more sunshine. What Happened? A […]

Post Cold frontal

September 24th, 2012 - Posted by Steve Ham

A very difficult week ahead for decent paragliding as the low to the N of Spain depens and moves towards the UK but giving us persistent strong SW wins and unsettled weather. Today very little thermic activity with a strong inverstion aroun 2100m and cool temperatures (18ºC).  If the wind goes west enough then we […]

Cu´s around 3000m, SW winds.PB for Peter

September 20th, 2012 - Posted by Steve Ham

Still a low pressure situation but pressure rising slowly and an inversion growing which should cap overdevelopement at the end of day. SW winds of 10-15km/hr and thermall tops and Cu around 10,000ft. Weak thermals at expected max of around 26ºC, though will improve at lot at 28ºC. Reasonalbe XC potential if we are flying […]

Light winds (S-SE). Reasonable thermals to c9000ft

September 19th, 2012 - Posted by Steve Ham

Low pressure (heat low formed over central Spain) and the passage of a cold front southwards (though mainly to the East of us) will complicate the day. Development of large cumulus clouds and possibly Cbs (though more likely to E of us). We should get reasonable soaring conditions with the possiblility of a modest XC […]
