Probably too windy

July 31st, 2012 - Posted by Steve Ham

If we believe the Data from NOA then it is unlikely that we can safely fly today.  Winds in the SW with climbs to 3200 but with excessive wind speeds.  I we do fly then it will be early from Lastra and with a track to the NE as shown on the diagram and conditions/time/X […]

An improvement, but..

July 28th, 2012 - Posted by Steve Ham

The trough seems to have moved somewhat to the east.   High pressure begins to move in from the west which should fully stabalise things from Sunday onwards.  However, untill then we continue with the risk of large cloud build ups.  The cold front arriving should only affect adversley the northern part of Spain as is […]

Late Season Trips to Southern Spain

July 27th, 2012 - Posted by Steve Ham

Later this season we are once again running some trips to Southern Spain. Flying Area Perhaps the most pleasant area is the cluster of sites around […]

Cbs

July 27th, 2012 - Posted by Steve Ham

No chance today with very high probability.  Infact thunder as I write this at before 9am. Nice to have some rain on the ground after so long a dry spell – but no consilation for our pilots.  Anybody interested in a cultural trip to Salamanca? The trough and upper level cool air is just the […]

Not disimilar to yesterday

July 26th, 2012 - Posted by Steve Ham

Not the ideal paragliding scenario weather wise with the trough still nearby giving us to much upper level instablity and risk of large cloud build ups. The local forecast gives no risk of storms, howerver the Skew T with seems to hint otherwise.

c3800m base. S wind and Cbs

July 25th, 2012 - Posted by Steve Ham

The heat low has further deepened and we now have an trough across us and a very high probability of isolated Cbs.  The winds are S most of the way through the convection layer so little vorticity and hence little chance of super cell development.  However, early Cu development to Congestus and probably Cbs in […]
