Another E flow day with base near 2800m. Only Johan from our group flying as I was at the airport collecting the new arrivals. Great flight for him with a return to Barco. No evening flight as conditions turned strong SE.

Yesterday NE and a flight down to Barco in quite stable conditions initially . Marshal and Nigel tried to return, some of us decided to land and have a snack in Barco.

Due to expected strong winds we flew early in light thermals landing before the frontally induced increase in wind strength.

What a day. Quite remarkable. After the Pass near Muñana, Nigel and I climbed to 4500m then flew without turning to Avila then pretty much back to the same spot without dropping much below 3900m. Best in our group today was Johan again, with 82.8 landing near Villacastin on purpose. Iain made a great flight on his second attempt after an early bomb out. Conditons going to 3800m+ in the Avila valley so a lot of caution under the airspace, which was the main reason Iain landed when he did. […]
