Another good day with a marked inversion near take off a little like yesterday, but with probably climbs to 3000m later in the afternoon and a more westerly component which should today allow us to go over the Pass towards Avila. More detail at 11am briefing.
Things now back to good flying weather with the weekend good and Monday, with our new arrivals quite excellent. Just a flight to the Pass and back (east on the other side), but pleasant flying with little wind and cumulus at around 2600m. Weather for the week looking very nice.
After some reasonable evening flying at Lastra yesterday, today we have a very Stormy day with almost no possibility of flying with safety.
Today is looking a little more tricky. similar in many respects to yesterday, but the convergence a little more aimed towards the GAP at Cuellar. Briefing around 10am for more detail and leaving by 10.30am
The meteo was spot on yesterday. Both Ian and Johan achieved the goal and Tordesillas. Placed just short of the Valladolid airspace. The week is looking good. Today a light E flow with convergence along the main mountain and also running NW from Bejar. Not a big big open distance day, but should prove interesting. More details at briefing at 10.30am
A break in the poor weather of the previous days and easterly flow but a little inverted. Enough for some 20km flights to Barco for most of the group. Strong climbs and a little rough. Easy evening flying but the E component kept us on the PN spur.
The poor weather these last few days have given me time to do the 2nd Brits poster. The first was for the UK event, with caricatures of Boris Johnson and Teresa May. This one for France I thought I might use and Iconic british Bagpiper rounding a high french alpine peak.
