June 25th, 2014 - Posted by Steve Ham

The trough seems to have moved more NE and today we should start out with light N winds, perhaps moving more to the NW by the late afternoon.  It will be cold , zero degrees C at cloud base this morning (2600m), and cloud development should be restricted.  However, later in the afternoon we will […]

June 17th, 2014 - Posted by Steve Ham

Light E with blue thermals to 3100m Better wind forecast today for paragliding.  A marked inversion  at 3100, but heating to 30 degrees may give us some cumulus (potentially towering).   We can wait a  little today for better thermic conditions as there is less risk of strong winds. Very unstable with rain and storms […]

127km over the back of Gredos. PB for Jim, Tim and Ulric

June 14th, 2014 - Posted by Steve Ham

It should be a good day with much less chance of overdevelopment (which of course never happened yesterday).  Winds mainly N or NE in the convective layer and more NW around base and above.  Winds likely to get stronger and more East at the end of the day. A potentially good day to repeat Bernt´s […]

PB 127 km for Bernt. Light N wind, 3400m+ base.

June 13th, 2014 - Posted by Steve Ham

Light north wind with perhaps NNW in the Avila Valley and NNE in our region will make it easier flying towards the Barco direction.  Instability still persists, but less than yesterday.  A very good XC day with high potential if the towering cumulus stays away or we can fly to a region with less problems […]
