Light W, mainly blue thermals

August 15th, 2011 - Posted by Steve Ham

A good forecast with light W and thermals to 3000m. Apart from the Sunday evening flight the first go for the Gloster/Black country boys. Unfortunately mostly downed at the Cemetery before the pass in the quite tricky weak conditions. They day had fully developed for the evening flying with good climbs to 2500m.

July 24th, 2011 - Posted by Steve Ham

The whole group went easily over the pass, only Rob getting stuck on the high point and after a long battle landing up on the high ground.   I made an easy crossing with Catherine, Ian and Peter, all of us fining a very big climb on the other side.  Bob was a little ahead, and […]

PB for Julie.

June 3rd, 2011 - Posted by Steve Ham

Wednesday we managed a quick flight from PN before windy E conditions set in. Yesterday a very very nice evening flight at Chia when most of us managed to get to cloud base, though the wind still around 20km/hr. Today a normal good day with light E and a base around 2400m. A flight towards […]

Epic conditions and easy romp to Salamanca

May 10th, 2011 - Posted by Steve Ham

We decided to go straight to La Lastra, and all those who took off were quickly near base and on transit to some perfect streets over the back. Unfortunately Brian and Nick dropped out after around 15 -20km but after getting a little low nearby, Simon and I had a grand time cloud hopping to […]

The day took quite some time to get going with very gentle and occational backwinds at launch untill around 2pm. Not much to be had on the first flight at 2 pm for most due to a passing section of Cirrus. On the 2nd flight things had really got going with the ground temp going […]

Cracking day Ligh W, upto 7m/s climbs

Yesterday was nice, though today a real spring day with perfect Cus for much of the morning with abundant strong climbs. Yesterday we finished with a little adventure. Grita managed to land on top near the Corals on the evening flight, just 30mins before sunset. Luckily she had a torch and managed to get to […]

Gentle NE climbs to 2500m

April 27th, 2011 - Posted by Steve Ham

Today finally a very good day with fantastic thermal soaring conditions throughout the day. The last two days have been a bit too windy or overdeveloped giving poor flying on Monday, and making us do something else yesterday (quite a pleasant Gredos Walk). Today a very nice Cu distribution with an easy trip to near […]

Over the Pass

April 14th, 2011 - Posted by Steve Ham

Once again great flying conditions with potential climbs to 2900m (the Cu´s over the mountains), though I only went to 2450m. Marco doubled his personal best on the second flight landing at Muñotello on the other side of the Pass. Classic evening restitution for the evening flight. An interesting effect of a fire in Bejar. […]
