Very gentle warm sunny day with inverted conditons around take off for the first flight. The XC I made with Walter on the tandem. Slow climbs to not more than 100m over take off, though sufficient to drop into the usual bar at Barco de Avila. The others dropped out along the route.
Another nice day, the best had by Cinzia with a flight beyond Villafranca and back.
A splendid flying day today with light winds between N and NW and easy thermals to around 2300m. We had 3 flights, with a float to Villafranca and back. the photo is a shot of Marco landing at the bottom of the big spine. Sunday our Goose finally hatched her eggs that she has been […]
Not much flying so far this year for me, what with quite a harsh winter, lots of other projects and a recent wrist operation. However, yesterday we had some classic conditions at Peña Negra, which somehow cooincided with interest in tandem passengers. Three great thermal flights with the last landing a few minutes after sunset. […]
Yesterday, Saturday, once again a glorious day with nice climbs to around 2400m and even a 6m/s climb amongst most of the light Autumn climbs. Brian and I flew to near Barco (we wanted to get to Solana to collect Chesnuts). We got to Solana via the car with Puri and the children and managed […]
No clients now, but Bryan and I had a break from the building with a few hours this afternoon around the valley. High pressure and good weather set to continue it seems.
Our last day of the season with clients and very nice conditions. I made a tandem flight this morning, easy to stay up with nice Cu´s, though a bit low. For the second flight the base was not much more than 2000m, but Bryan and I made a nice flight to Barco. Chris and Horst […]
Saturday bought us enough rain to go on the river. In fact, there was so much water we had to run a section very high up the Tormes, very pretty, through pine forest, though not as interesting water as the usual section. Even so, everybody managed to spend quite a time out of the boat […]
John, Brian, Terry, Sandara and myself spent the moring climbing up to look at the iron age remains of the ancient village of Ulaca in the Ambles Valley. The weather has really closed in now so flying tomorrow also looks unlikely.
Strong SW winds. Puri took our walking clients and Bryan up the Gredos mountains. The others opted for Salamanca.
