Johan makes O&R to Barco on Sunday

Another E flow day with base near 2800m.  Only Johan from our group flying as I was at the airport collecting the new arrivals.  Great flight for him with a return to Barco.  No evening flight as conditions turned strong SE.

Yesterday NE and a flight down to Barco in quite stable conditions initially .  Marshal and Nigel tried to return, some of us decided to land and have a snack in Barco.

Amazing conditions and 4500m

What a day.  Quite remarkable.  After the Pass near Muñana, Nigel and I climbed to 4500m then flew without turning to Avila then pretty much back to the same spot without dropping much below 3900m. 2 New PBs, 100km Out and Return for Johan and 54.8km for Nick on first ever XC

Todays forecast lived up to expectations with climbs to 3300m, light winds and strong thermals.  Johan made it back from 50km out to the NW of Avila, and Nick on his FIRST EVER Xc, made 54.8km.  Marshal also made it a good deal back from Avila to near the Pass.   An epic day.  Also […]

Excellent Sunday flying yet again

Personal Best for Lawrence. 150km

Another PB for the week with Lawrence smashing his PB by X3 with an epic run to the NNE and 150km.  Nigel made 118km and Stu 95km.  Big conditions with climbs to well over 4000m.

Lots of flights but only Tim has decent success.

What seemed a classic forecast was ruined somewhat by OD [spreadout].   Tim was able to snatch a thermal from the sun in the valley and do a nice out and return in the Salamanca direction.  The rest of us had multiple attempts with some slow thermal climbs

Very pleasant conditions yesterday with mostly the group flying circuits around the valley between the pass and Baroc.  Helen probably did the most with about 50km.
