Big Sunday. 4300m. 102km O&R for Esa

Whilst I was hanging around the airport all day for the new arrivals, Esa managed a great out and return to Avila.  Also, Bart made Avila along with Simon and Abbey on the tandem.  In the comp event up the road at Candelario, 2 pilots made it over 200km.

Unfortunately, today, Monday, has not been so good, with windy SW conditions and upper-level cover and haze.  Things are unlikely to get decent until Wednesday.

NW going NE. Lighter Winds. 3000m

A reasonable day with blue thermals going above 3000m.  More at briefing at 11.15.

Possible 4000m climbs. blue thermals

Today a shift in the wind direction with a more complex airflow making open distance not a good option but still some good potential for interesting flying.  Climbs to maybe 4000m and an interesting convergence line running from near Barco to Gijuelo.  More detail  at briefing at 11.15am

Saturday to Monday. All good again.

Things now back to good flying weather with the weekend good and Monday, with our new arrivals quite excellent.  Just a flight to the Pass and back (east on the other side), but pleasant flying with little wind and cumulus at around 2600m.   Weather for the week looking very nice.
