Flights in all directions, though mainly N.

A nice day with weak conditions early on from PN.  4 managed 30 km to the North then made some way back but decided to land .  Bart went east and Ian went west.  On the whole a nice flying day with climbs to 2800m

Excellent day for all and some PBs

A light wind day, with a little NE bias.  All down to Barco and most a good way back with Mike, Nigel, Ian and myself getting back then Mike and I continued N towards Salamanca whilst Ian went towards Avila going over the Pass.  Many hours in the air.  Excellent climbs and about 4/8 Cu.  Perfect!

6 over Pass but we landed due to increase in winds.

A good looking day with nice Cu, though rather low (2400 initially after take off).  After a little valley flying we decided to cross the Pass, on the south side.  In the Avila valley the wind had gotten up to above 25km/hr with climbs to 2700m, but beginning to get rowdy so those that had not already landed decided to do so before Avila.

Declared goal of 136km. 2 Personal bests

Classic SW convergence day and a goal set towards the end of that line at 136 some 4okm NE of Segovia at Aguilafuente.  Quite tricky for the first part with only Pete, Rika, Jan, Mike, Stu and myself clearing the Pass.  Ian also went over but as he was a little low, turned back landing high on the mountain.
Nice climbs throughout the day to around 3000m with good Cu distribution along the convergence.  We made goal with still perhaps 45 minutes of active day left.  For both Stu and Jan the flight was a personal best.

5 to Avila Thursday and new site record today for Magnus

Yesterday we had a great day. Although starting very overcast by 3 pm we were on our way with nice Cu at 3300m for a relatively easy flight to Avila. Once there some tried to get back, Magnus making it back to Amavida near the Pass.
Today with a relatively strong S forecast we went to the new site, having first tried La Lastra and finding it too strong. 4 flew and Magnus made the best of it, hitting a blue hole around the 80km mark. This is the first XC from the S side of this site (We did an XC from the Northside a few weeks back).

5 over the Pass towards Avila

A good forecast, though a veil of cirrus slowed things and a bit of a headwind kept us from reaching Avila, Nigel being closest.

However, a great flying day and some classic evening restitution for the evening flight.

Just a decent evening thermal soar on Tuesday

Due to the large cloud build ups we were reduced to a decent evening flight. The HG comp went to Pedro Bernardo, leaving us alone yesterday

Local flying to around 2800m.

2nd day of spanish HG nationals and we took of from a separate site a litte to the East.   dificult stable conditons then later turning stronger and easier, but some Cbs forming in the Avila valley kept us near home.

Ending the week and the start of the Hang Gliding Nationals

Saturdays Launch and Practice for the HGs.

This Week, starting with the Practice day on Saturday, we have the Spanish HG nationals. The rather unusual weather continues…but flyable. Saturday a nice circuit flight by most around the ridge and valley, with Aniko, Magnus and Sebi flying off to the NW when Cbs threatened the main ridge, Magnus making around 70km.
Yesterday, Sunday, the first task of the event and some decent flying by our PG group, once again Magnus making the best with a fight over the Pass to La Torre. The HGs made an out and return towards Avila.

2 little flights.

Yesterday, with curious weather, we flew the N side of Armenteros, just 15km NW of Piedrahita, whilst at PN the wind was near 50km south, the wind curving around the mountains go give a light area in one area of the plains.  Later in the afternoon it briefly came onto PN, but we missed that and some had just a fly down at the end of the day.
