Excellent 1st Day for DSC

Really pleasant conditions yesterday for the new group who mainly kept to the valley.  Dave Allen did the best with an out and return of around 50kms to beyond the N of the Pass. Really spectacular evening flying.  Light winds but with thermals to 3100m.

Sebastian to Avila, then lots over Pass on evening flight

PB for Faisal and Anders

Conditions switched back on again today with light winds and some climbs to 3000m+. A few PBs, for Anders and for Faisal with flights to Avila. We set the goal there so we could be back in time for the evening flight and restitution, which was one of the good ones.

A day of Wave.

Yesterday an unusual day in that wave bars formed along the chain of mountains and out in the plains.  We flew, though found the winds speeds switch quite dramatically at times.   The best soaring for all was during the evening.

Eventful day with very strong conditions

3600m strong climbs in convergence.

The convergence forecast to run N from Muñogalindo seemed not to be there, but a great run to Avila with climbs of 3600m and light winds.   Most of the group at Avila, near or past a little.

Fast climbs to 3300m+. 40km O&R for Thomas

Yesterday the day switched on very early with strong climbs from around 12.45 when we took off.  Very light winds and what seemed like constant lift to Barco.  Steve and I went up towards the Tornavacas Pass and found above 3500m a SW wind.  Only Thomas successfully returned to Piedrahita from Barco.  Excellent evening conditions […]
