Most of the group in Barco, though a few brave souls did venture down to Plasencia via the Bejar mountains.
Turnaround day for us, so limited goal to Avila (55km). 2 in goal and David a bit past Munogalindo. Both picked up by Steve on way back from Airport shuttle. Good evening flying though breezy early on.
With the north west flow and climbs not generally above 2900m it was a bit of a struggle but David, Tim and myself arrived at the declared goal next to the Segovia Hospital. Next back was 100km for SinGas, then john and Carl at around 67km and just near Avila, Martin. 4 others over the […]
With not such an epic forecast, but light winds and a strong convergence in the Avila valley, 7 of us managed to do the trip to Avila and back. From a group of 15, all but one made it over the pass and of those only one failed to reach Avila, the rest returning a […]
After 2 windy days of South wind today we got to fly Peña Negra. A fair bit of wind especially just after the pass. Today we were joined by the Candelario Open XC event. Candelario tends to be a more fickle site, so they all ended up with us at Piedrahita. Best flights amonst the […]
Whilst I was hanging around the airport all day for the new arrivals, Esa managed a great out and return to Avila. Also, Bart made Avila along with Simon and Abbey on the tandem. In the comp event up the road at Candelario, 2 pilots made it over 200km. Unfortunately, today, Monday, has not been […]
Q Quite a tricky day with increasing winds at take off. 5 over the Pass, all landed before Avila except for Ollie who made Villacastin.
Tough to get up on the other side of the pass yesterday. Many of us went down, but Abbey and Simon on the tandem made it as did Ollie and Mark (nearly)
RASP forecast pretty much as announced. Myself and Olli landed at the arranged Avila Goal and Ana, Alan and Mark flew a good deal back towards the pass after making Avila. Mark Senior, whose radio was down carried on to 90.2km landing at Navas de San Antonio.
Things now back to good flying weather with the weekend good and Monday, with our new arrivals quite excellent. Just a flight to the Pass and back (east on the other side), but pleasant flying with little wind and cumulus at around 2600m. Weather for the week looking very nice.
