Weather today looks especially unlikely for safe flying

July 7th, 2016 - Posted by Steve Ham

Without the need to go into too much detail, much of Spain, and particularly the central part, will be subject to severe storms once again.  I think it unlikely we can even squeeze in a safe top to bottom.  However, this does seem to be coming to and end and more hope for Friday!

Weather for Wednesday July 6th.

July 6th, 2016 - Posted by Steve Ham

Continuing very unstable with cooler air comming in at altitude making today very things very problematic.   Wind at 6am is south at PN launch.  This could be a difficult day even to get the limited amount of flying we had yesterday. We will leave at 10.30  and maybe have to go to La Lastra […]

July 6th, 2016 - Posted by Steve Ham

Yesterday we were able to get some reasonable flying in for an hour before the  large build up clouds and storms.  Only Fredi ventured over the Pass to a very active Ambles Valley landing around the bend in the road.

Weather for flying July 5th.

July 5th, 2016 - Posted by Steve Ham

Initially, looking at the sky this morning it seems much better.  The wind at take off is zero so should be fine at PN. No need to go to La Lastra. However, although not in the most fierce area of storms today, we do have sufficient upper level instability to cause large congestus clouds and […]

Weather Monday

Weather for Sunday

July 3rd, 2016 - Posted by Steve Ham

This looks like a very good day for a circuit flight with light winds and the best conditions on the mountain and a tounge of convergence stretching to the NNE from the Pass.  It looks like there maybe some big build up of large Cu to the south of the mountain.  The risk of instability […]

Weather for Saturday July 2nd.

July 2nd, 2016 - Posted by Steve Ham

Today we once again have excellent thermal XC conditions .  The task for yesterdays league probably should have been set with todays weather where we have a more N ad even NE flow from Avila.  Yesterday the N only really effected the lower level , the average in the boundary layer helping for a relatively […]
