July 17th, 2012 - Posted by Steve Ham

Another epic paragliding day with the conditions ramped up from yesterday with a max temp of 32ºC.  Yesterdays flight and more is feasable.  I have included the time and conditions over yesterdays route bleow.  However, with the lighter wind and more easterly componend it may be more interesting to fly more to the NW, skirting […]

A different sort of day

July 15th, 2012 - Posted by Steve Ham

After months of westerlies today gives us the oportunity tof ly to the west.  The westerly flow continues at altitude, but NE winds in tthe convection layer.  An inversion around 2500m will keep things down, but by theend of the afternoon some climbs to near 3000m. Airport run for me today, so just an evening […]

July 14th, 2012 - Posted by Steve Ham

This morning presents the typical post cold frontal scenario (with a complication).  Early morning Stratocumulus at mid level on the mountain and throughout  the valley.   This will gradually thin and rise during the morning, probably clearing take off by mid day.  Increasing high pressure, but complicated by the arrival of another weak cold front later […]

Dia de viento / Similar to yesterday but a lot more wind.

July 13th, 2012 - Posted by Steve Ham

An approaching cold front and a general increasing of the winds. We still have the westerly flow but around 25km/hr at take off level and perhaps in excess of 40 km near 3000m. Similarly to yesterday there is an inversion at 2600m which will slow conditions untill later in the afternoon. With top temperatures of […]

July 12th, 2012 - Posted by Steve Ham

The upper level trough affecting the North of the Iberian Peninsula seems to no longer be a problem with increased high pressure (what we believed woud prevent the Cbs yesterday). We continue with the now typical pattern of an upper westerly flow. Winds at lower levels early on should be around 15km/hr west to north […]

Moderate WSW c3000m.

July 9th, 2012 - Posted by Steve Ham

Relative Low pressure with a upper level trough moving in Wednesday. Winds at 8.30am are S at take off. Winds in SW and good themal quality will give convergence out in the flat lands and should give us a good potential XC day. Wind speed is on the strong side with around 20km/hr at take […]
