Nice early flying then Cbs

May 14th, 2011 - Posted by Steve Ham

An early start around 11.15 with the usual perfect Cu filled sky all going wrong by 1pm. Great flying for the short period, though staying local and comming back to the Piedrahita landing.

Excellent conditions but blocked to W and E by Congestus

May 13th, 2011 - Posted by Steve Ham

A great looking day but just too much build up of congestus in the Avila Valley to go over the pass. Every body had an easy time in the house thermal over the Chalet. Simon and I crossed the valley to Malpartida and back, though I landed short of town at the old HG landing […]

Good start going Cb

May 12th, 2011 - Posted by Steve Ham

A light wind launch at around mid day, with early Cu development and easy climbs and local flying around the mountain and Piedrahita for most. By the time we got back for the second flight there were a number of congestus clouds both to the E, and and N so we decided to drive down. […]

A missed oportunity then some flying at Chia

May 11th, 2011 - Posted by Steve Ham

May 7th, 2011 - Posted by Steve Ham

Wednesday and Thursday gave us excellent thermal conditions with climbs of up to 7m/s and excellent Cu filled skies with less depth than the beginning of the week. Thursday evening we changed sites for the first flying at Lastra this year. However, Untill Sunday things are a bit grim, though next week is looking really […]

Cracking day Ligh W, upto 7m/s climbs

May 4th, 2011 - Posted by Steve Ham

Yesterday was nice, though today a real spring day with perfect Cus for much of the morning with abundant strong climbs. Yesterday we finished with a little adventure. Grita managed to land on top near the Corals on the evening flight, just 30mins before sunset. Luckily she had a torch and managed to get to […]

Light NE with large Cu ending in Cbs at 5.30pm

May 2nd, 2011 - Posted by Steve Ham

A few nice flights today, but always with the threat on the Cus growing to tall. We landed around 4pm with plenty of margin before the storm.
