Super dooper day

Light wind forcast, but conditions not really getting going till after 2pm . We had an early morning flight, then on the XC I thought conditions were a bit north at the pass. Most of the pilots were in a position to go over, though Dave Quinn landed near Villafranca after an excellent run ahead of everybody else. My decision to fly back via Bonilla was a poor one. While kicking the tops of the houses at Bonilla in a 15-18km Westerly I radioed back to those still high that it was really best after all to go over the pass. I managed to scrape back up to Nigel and Kieth who were also pushing towards Bonilla, but we all three failed to climb out high enough to cross the pass.

Only Brian and Graham crossed, Brian landing at Avila and Graham (after some excitement after a bit of cascade episode) just sort. Some very nice evening conditions, and I managed to do 2 more tandems (the XC also with one) to reduce my backlog of tandem clients.
