SW and high base.

Today the trace looked good, with a base in the upper 3000metres, and a light to moderate SW wind. Some upper level instability, causing largish build ups before noon, and forming shadow on the hill. The wind never came onto Peña Negra, much to the regret of ourselves and the 50 or so pilots of the Liga Centro comp. We checked out Chia, but was a bit feisty for our tastes, though later a few brave pilots got away and flew off towards Avila.

The belgian pilots and Ian came with me to help on a Pioneering method and split with one of my hives, so we did see some flying….some 20,000 upset bees who were removed from their framed hive and put in a new empty Warre Hive…..so many bees, so much to do!

Tomorrow off to the UK. In the past I have always had amazing luck with my flying in the UK, on my 4-6 day trips I often manage to grap some of the best UK flying conditions of the year, having made 174km , 168km as best flights, and last year getting every day but one in with enough flight in the week to come 3rd overall in the Avon XC league. I imagine it will be hard to top last years conditions and Nationals event, but any time for me in dear old Blighty is a treat.
