Light SW and 2800m and convergence..but

The group decided to forgo the early flight and concentrate on the XC. Unfortunately, they all landed without hooking into the climb at the Quarry. So, with an epic cloud street towards Avila, all my guest were down, with only me high at the pass. Ah well! For the evening flight we took off at around 6.45pm and decided to try for the pass again. The climbs were not going so high, so we went from the Corral to the Tree lined ridge, where at least it was soarable. Ian and myself got a climb high enough to venture down the Dead End Valley, popping over the ridge to soar at the pass. I ran around and soared under the Antenna north of the pass, then went back to land with Ian on the top of the pass. A very interesting evening task…. and at least we could see Avila from where we landed.

Tonight we will try my Mead with the meal. I made up a batch last October from my honey, and now finally the tasting. I am very nervous it will be too yeasty, as I spent a long time decanting it, and from maybe 30 litres I have only ended up with 9……

    don’t drink it all before Bryan & I get there! (unless its crap, then we won’t mind!)

    the mead was a success……..a hint of yeastyness, but the contents were consumed. Another month and it will be better.
