Best rain in 34 years!

In early April the whole of Spain was worried about the reservoirs being to low to see us through the year, with water restriction starting to come into effect in many regions. Rainfall in April was about normal for this region, however, after April, things generally start to dry up quite quickly. On the northern tablelands it is generally dry outside April and end of October/November…….sort of why it is a good place for flying. However, the local newspaper, El Diario de Avila, comments that it is the wettest May since 1934. arenĀ“t we lucky! We have had some very good flying days amongst the unseasonably poor weather, even today with a abysmal forecast we had some reasonable soaring this morning, but limited to the valley and curtailed after an hour by rain. Things not looking good for the next few days either
